like a river disturbed by a rock thrown. People
crowded around
the birthday cake, candles alight sing
birthday wishes (as the cycle
completes one more yearly turn) to
the happy recipient The
food, a buffet and the cake chocolate, dismantled, amongst
joyful conversation and laughter Then fulfillment
occurs and the ripples return, as the goodbyes echo, with a final
